Guide
Leads are sitting at "Open" and nobody has started.
The default lead status is where every lead starts. A lead still there days later is a lead nobody has worked, whoever owns it.
Why they stay there
- Owned by a queue nobody works.
- Owned by someone who has left.
- Worked, but the status was never moved. Then the process is fine and the reporting is not.
- No retraction. Nothing pulls an untouched lead back and offers it to someone else.
Check it yourself
SELECT ApiName FROM LeadStatus WHERE IsDefault = true
SELECT COUNT() FROM Lead WHERE IsConverted = false AND Status = 'Open - Not Contacted' AND CreatedDate = LAST_N_DAYS:30 AND CreatedDate < LAST_N_DAYS:2
Use the default status the first query returns. Leaving out the last two days gives reps a fair chance before a lead counts as stuck.
Have it checked every night instead.
Routing Forensics connects as a read-only user and checks this, and the rest of your routing, against your real leads. Register interest and you will be first to get a free health report: what is leaking, where, and what it is worth.
