Guide
The lead owner keeps changing, and nobody works the lead.
A lead that changes owner four times in a week is not being worked by any of them. It usually means two automations disagree about who should own it.
Usual causes
- A flow and a routing tool both assign. Each one undoes the other on the next update.
- An assignment rule reruns on edit. A form or integration update fires the rule again.
- Territory or account matching reassigns a lead that round robin has just placed.
Check it yourself
This needs field history tracking on for the Lead Owner field.
SELECT LeadId, COUNT(Id) n FROM LeadHistory WHERE Field = 'Owner' AND CreatedDate = LAST_N_DAYS:7 GROUP BY LeadId HAVING COUNT(Id) > 6
Each owner change is usually written as two history rows, one with the Ids and one with the names, so more than 6 rows means more than 3 changes. Then read the history of one of them: the users making each change tell you which automations are fighting.
Have it checked every night instead.
