Which HubSpot workflows are setting your contact owner?

In HubSpot the contact owner can be set by a workflow's set property action, a rotate action, a form's settings or an import. When two workflows both set it, the one that runs last wins, and nobody can say afterwards who was meant to get the contact.

What to look for

Check it yourself

In HubSpot, open Automation, Workflows, and filter to contact-based workflows that are on. Open each one and search its actions for the contact owner property and for rotate actions. Note which owner each one assigns to, then compare with Settings, Users and Teams for anyone deactivated.

A limit worth knowing

HubSpot's workflow permission has no read-only version, and its API can hold back workflows built in its editor. Any tool, ours included, can only check the workflows HubSpot returns, so compare the count with what you see in HubSpot.

Routing Forensics connects as a read-only user and checks this, and the rest of your routing, against your real leads. Register interest and you will be first to get a free health report: what is leaking, where, and what it is worth.

Or check it now: the free scan finds workflows that assign to a deactivated owner, and more than one workflow setting the owner in your HubSpot workflow export, in your browser, and nothing is uploaded.
