Guide
Deals are still sitting with your SDRs.
In most teams a development rep creates the opportunity, and an account executive takes it over at a set stage. When that handoff does not happen, the deal sits with someone whose job is to book meetings, not to close.
Why the handoff does not happen
- It is manual. Someone has to change the owner, and on a busy week nobody does.
- The flow that should do it misses. Its entry conditions test a stage name that was renamed, or a value with a stray quote.
- Stages are skipped. The flow fires on one stage, and reps move deals straight past it.
Check it yourself
SELECT ApiName, MasterLabel, SortOrder FROM OpportunityStage WHERE IsActive = true AND IsClosed = false ORDER BY SortOrder
Note the handoff stage and every open stage after it. Then count the open deals your development team still owns at those stages:
SELECT Id, StageName, Amount FROM Opportunity WHERE IsClosed = false AND OwnerId IN ('005...') AND StageName IN ('Qualification', 'Needs Analysis')
List your development reps' user Ids in the first bracket, and your handoff stage and the ones after it in the second.
Have it checked every night instead.
